Great stories for quiet times with little ones. We haven't had a car trip to try them out, but love playing these during nap/rest times and bedtimes to help them get to sleep.What did we ever do without these? Adventures in Odyssey have transformed car trips into enjoyable trips. The stories are great, entertaining, age appropriate, interesting and give us opportunities to talk about life moments in a non-stressful way. Our kids ask for Odyssey as soon as we get in the car! (our kids are 5 & 7)My kids love Adventures in Odyssey. This CD was great for our family road trip this summer. I would highly recommend this to any family.The kids loved this album, some of their favorites compiled here!We have many collections of Adventures in Odyssey. We always have one playing when we are getting from here to there in the car. And we live at a distance so we love how these adventures make a 10 hour drive go a little more easily. My kids are small (4,3, and 1) so they don’t understand all the concepts but they are capable of understanding so much so we have had many great conversations from listening to the stories.We have a lot of Adventure in Odyssey cds and this was just awful. It’s very boring but worst of all it was not up to par with things I’d want my kids to hear and learn from. One story was all about girls being boy crazy and having crushes. My oldest son who is 10 even said, “why is this even in here, it’s not even the main part of the story. Do kids act this way all the time?” In another story the dad was not being a real father leading his family but submitting to whatever his wife and children wanted. If you care about Godly principles and teaching them to your kids then this is important to know. Lastly there was a story where the kids spoke so horrible to each other that even my kids mentioned it. I turned it off after hearing ten minutes of ugly talk between the siblings in a car with the parents not doing anything about it. It wasn’t little squabbling but full on name calling and awful awful attitudes and speech towards each other. All of these scenes in different stories could have been written in such a way as to make it fun and adventurous without sacrificing the good and godly principles they are trying to convey.I had this in my cart for quite some time not sure if I warned to spend the money. Not growing up with Adventures in Odessy I wasn't sure if it was worth it. On an extremely long road trip, stuck in traffic, kids screaming my husband commented we needed an audio book for them and I quickly purchased this, sent to our destination and ready for the ride home. It was the most enjoyable five hours in the car we've ever had. Since then we all look forward to getting in the car for any length of time and have purchased other Adventure in Oddessy cds. I have a feeling we will end up owning them all. Excellent value for your money and so many wonderful lessons for the kids.We loaded up our minivan and drove the family 16 hours to visit in-laws in Maine. This CD set was a HUGE hit with our 5 kids (ages 11-2) and helped them pass many miles of interstate driving. There are ~6 hrs of stories here. The stories are filled with good lessons, so usually after a story ended, we would pause the CD and have a quick chat with our kids (why was it wrong? what could be done differently? have you ever experienced this? etc.) as a good teaching moment.Do note that some of these stories appear on other AIO CD sets, so you may have a few duplicated if you are hardcore AIO 'collectors' like my family is!Recommend this for anyone looking for good, wholesome entertainment on long car rides, or in your own home!Kept me and my kids, 10 and 12, occupied and made the miles fly by on our last road trip. I grew up listening to these adventures and I’m glad they’ve stood the rest of time and still hold a captive audience with the next generation. Love the values and the wonderful wisdom of Mr. WhittakerGreat family friendly content. There are a few crashes and car troubles in the stories though, so if you have anxiety about that while travelling this CD is not for you.The kids love these CDs!Great night time listenKids will like.
